Despacito was a track from the year 2017 made by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It became the top streamed and downloaded song in the world within 6 months. The combination of reggaeton and pop music did not just draw an interest to the genre, but as well to Latin music generally. In 2015 there were two mostly songs with Spanish lyrics on the Billboard Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. At the height of popularity for Despacito the track was one of 19 that mainly Spanish have made it into the Billboard Top 100. In 2020, the number will increase to 41 hits in this category. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. Then, various artistes collaborated with Reggaeton's biggest stars such as Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma with Medellin 2019. Reggaeton's mainstreaming was an issue for certain performers by the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, wanted to preserve the style. The group incorporated elements from different genres and electronic music.
