Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop stars: an artist who could seamlessly transition from the country to the mainstream becoming an iconic pop icon and then conquering the world through the process. Swift shed her roots in country music like a second layer and reveals herself as the most sophisticated pop singer and songwriter of that her generation has ever seen. She managed to take advantage of the contemporary zeitgeist, and turn it into her individual. The skills she displayed were apparent on her early hits including the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album, 2008's Fearless showed a writer discovering her true identity and, in doing so, gaining a mass audience. Fearless ended up being hugely popular, not just within the U.S., with six platinum-certified singles due of the Top Ten songs Love Story & the hit song You Belong with Me. It was also a huge success internationally, in countries such as Canada, the U.K. Canada & Australia. Swift's next album, Speak Now, released almost two years after her first one, consolidated this success. Speak Now helped propel Swift to superstardom. It was only after that her popularity grew exponentially over her subsequent three albums- Red (2012) 1989 (2014) as well as Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 and found her moving assuredly to a realm of pop music in which she was already a part. However, even when she reduced her approach with 2020's stripped-down siblings' folklore and Evermore she remained atop the charts, a place that she maintained through re-recordings of the back catalogue, along with Midnights which was her top-charting synthesizer 2022 set.
